Sr. Virginia (Eleanor) Kelly
October 28, 1912 – May 19, 1994

Sr. Virginia Kelly first entered the community in 1931. She spent much of her ministry as a dedicated teacher at Nativity BVM, Our Lady of Grace, Our Lady of Victory, St. Thomas the Apostle, St. Mary’s High School, and Holy Family High School. She also served as principal of St. William the Abbot and Our Lady Star of the Sea. Sr. Virginia earned two master’s degrees – in French and in Latin from St. John’s University and continued to take courses throughout her life to aid her in her teaching ministry. She spent her retirement in Blue Point having spent 63 years of her life as a devoted Ursuline Sister.

We remember Sr. Virginia with gratitude and love.
