Sister Patricia (Sr. Loretto) Crowe, OSU died June 25, 2012 at NY Queens Hospital. She was born March 8, 1938 and raised in Howard Beach, NY. She is a graduate of Our Lady of Grace in Howard Beach, NY. She received a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education from St. John’s University and a Master of Arts degree in Art Education from SUNY New Paltz, as well as Certifications in Elementary and Art Education and Administration. She entered the Congregation of the Ursuline Sisters of Tildonk on September 8, 1956.

Sr. Patricia ministered for many years in education as both a teacher and a principal. She served on the elementary level teaching 6th, 7th and 8th grades at Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary in Ozone Park, NY; Our Lady of Grace in Howard Beach, NY; and Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Bayside, NY.

She served as an Art teacher at St. Mary High School in Greenwich, CT from 1971-1979. She was principal for Our Lady of Grace in Howard Beach from 1986-1997.

She also ministered for many years as a Eucharist Minister and a member of the Bereavement Team at Our Lady of Grace.
After retiring as principal, Sr. Patricia continued in ministry as a private tutor for several years.

She was preceded in death by her mother Loretta Smith Crowe and her father Thomas Crowe. She is survived by her sisters Evelyn Matier and Margaret Crowe, her brother Thomas Crowe, and nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass was held June 28, 2012, 10:30 am in the chapel of St. Ursula Center followed by interment at the St. Ursula Center cemetery in Blue Point, NY.
