Sister Margaret Mary Feahilly, OSU (Miriam Feahilly) 90, died September 4, 2017 at Maria Regina Residence in Brentwood, NY. She was born on May 30, 1927 in New York, NY. She entered the Congregation of the Ursuline Sisters of Tildonk on September 8, 1949 and professed her final vows six years later.

Sister Margaret Mary earned a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master’s degree in Education from St. John’s University.

Sr. Margaret Mary ministered as a teacher for 19 years. Her ministry was extensive and included teaching at Our Lady of Grace in Howard Beach from 1952-1961; Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Ozone Park from1961-1966 and Holy Family High School in Huntington from 1966-1971.

After her teaching career she served at Librarian and Archivist for 25 years at Dowling College in Oakdale from 1974-1999.

In 1999, after many years of active service, Sr. Margaret Mary retired to Blue Point where she continued a ministry of prayer and fundraising.

She is survived by her sister Mabel Caruso. Predeceased by her sister Margaret Lodato.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on September 7th at St. Ursula Convent in Blue Point, NY followed by internment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Coram, NY.
