Sister Helen Chasse

Sr. Helen Chasse, of Waterbury, CT, entered into the Ursuline community in 1961. She started her ministry as an elementary school teacher and taught at Nativity BVM and Our Lady of Victory. Sr. Helen then began ministering in spiritual direction and retreat work at St. Paul’s Cursillo & Retreat Program. She then founded the Tabor Retreat Center in Oceanside, NY where she served as director for over twenty years. Sr. Helen provided programs which addressed not only spiritual well-being, but also physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education and master’s degree in French from St. John’s University, a master’s degree in pastoral studies from Loyola University in Chicago, and a certification in spiritual direction from the Institute for Spiritual Leadership.

We remember Sr. Helen with gratitude and love.
