Sister Agnes (Sr. Mary Pauline) Seebach, OSU died peacefully August 3, 2017, at Sentara North General Hospital, Norfolk, VA. She was born September 10, 1937, in Seaford, NY. She entered the Congregation of the Ursuline Sisters of Tildonk in September 1960 and professed her final vows six years later.

Sister Agnes earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from St. John’s University followed by a Masters in Theology from Loyola University.

She taught for several years from 1965-1979 at St. William the Abbot, Seaford, NY; St. Thomas the Apostle, West Hartford, CT; Our Lady Star of the Sea, Stamford, CT; and Our Lady of Victory, West Haven, CT.

Following her teaching career, she was called to Parish ministry. She served in parish ministry for 20 years at the Church of the Resurrection in Portsmouth, VA; Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Norfolk, VA, and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Quinton, VA.  She returned to NY in 1999 to serve her community and the retired sisters as Coordinator of St. Ursula Center.  She retired in 2004 and continued to serve through community and prayer services.

She leaves many cousins in New York and Virginia, and her religious sisters of the Ursuline community.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on August 9 at St. Ursula Convent in Blue Point, NY followed by internment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Coram, NY.
