Happy Feast of St. Angela Merici
January 27 is the Feast of Saint Angela Merici, Foundress of the Ursuline Order. Happy Feast Day to all members of the Ursuline Order throughout the world!
In 1535, Saint Angela Merici, devoted follower of Christ and spiritual leader in Brescia, Italy, founded the Company of St. Ursula, which later became the first teaching order of Sisters in the Church. Under the guidance of Saint Angela, a group of twelve women worked to raise the standards of society by the example of their lives and the practice of spiritual values. Ursulines draw spiritual nourishment from Saint Angela’s rule, counsels, and legacies. The following is one of Saint Angela’s most inspiring quotes for reflection:
“Do something. Get moving. Be confident. Risk new things. Stick with it. Get on your knees. Then be ready for big surprises.”
-St. Angela Merici, Foundress of the Ursuline Order
May Saint Angela continue to guide our lives.
Please be assured that you and your loved ones will be in our prayers.
